For twenty-five years I worked as a technical translator, Mercedes-Benz, National Geographic, Amazon Prime, Rolex... Then AI arrived and the work almost disappeared. The income disruption was one thing. The nights were another.
I started waking at 3am. Not anxious exactly (I was anxious when I couldn't fall asleep, but that was different). More like alert. Like something required my attention and refused to wait. I tried the apps. They told me to breathe and relax. They did not explain anything. I tried reading about it. The reading explained the mechanism but could not guide the practice in the dark while I was lying there waiting for my body to take pitty on me and finally fall asleep.
So, I built The Midnight Reset because I needed something that explained what was happening in my body first, and then guided me through the response. In my own voice. From the room where I had spent too many hours wide awake.
I am not a sleep therapist or a medical professional. I am a translator who became very well read on nervous system science during a period when that knowledge was personally necessary.
